School of Business Consulting Group

Digital Consultant & Office Manager

Overview

The following outlines my work experience as a Digital Consultant for the School of Business Consulting Group (SBC) at the University of Alberta. At SBC, I worked on implementing the Digital Economy Program (DEP), a government-funded initiative that provides small businesses with free digital marketing consulting. I had the opportunity to work with over 25 small businesses, focusing on website building and editing, search engine optimization implementation, research, and guide creation. Additionally, I assisted clients with social media content strategies, sample posts, and content calendars, as well as other digital marketing tools. Through my work, I accumulated a client satisfaction score of 98%. The following are some selected businesses and corresponding deliverables that showcase the range of my work for SBC.

Rosy Farms

Project Notes: The client had a pre-existing website and requested keyword research and implementation to be conducted. As part of my work, I noticed in an initial audit that the website contained 4 to 5 H1 headers on the homepage. I reformatted the entire homepage and implemented a proper heading structure. Besides the restructuring, I used "Haskap Berry" and "Haskap Berries" for the keywords and integrated them into the headings, written content, meta description, and alt-texts.

Client Feedback: I truly appreciate all your hard work. I have read through your document, being able to understand much of it. You have clear directions and a good way of explaining tasks.

Riverside E-Bikes

Project Notes: The client had an existing website but had no SEO work done on it. My work consisted of conducting keyword research and implementing the keyword into the homepage of the website. I had identified that "E-bikes" would be the primary keyword to implement. The keyword was implemented in the web page headers, meta descriptions, written paragraph content, and alt-text.

Project Notes: The client had an existing website that was outdated on an old website builder platform. I built the client a new website on Squarespace and integrated SEO specifically onto the homepage. The keyword integration includes headers, written paragraph content (keyword density), meta description, alt text, and URL slug. There are a few design elements that the client wished to complete themselves, such as the favicon, which hasn't been changed yet.

Project Notes: The client had an existing website and wanted a more effective landing page and improved navigation. Additionally, the client had requested that I conduct keyword research, but they wanted to implement the keywords themselves. For my work, I designed the current landing page on the website and implemented the service section on the homepage to enhance navigation.

Project Notes: The client was using an outdated version of Squarespace and wanted to offer a way to sell products through their website, in addition to in-store purchases. For my work, I created a new website on the latest version of Squarespace. I integrated all products into the new site, setting up e-commerce functionality for the client using Squarespace.

Client Testimonial: Working with Logan and the Digital Economy Program was a very pleasant and productive process. Logan listened intently to my questions and concerns and was always very patient in answering them all in a very respectful and informative way. The attention to detail in his explanations was greatly appreciated and he offered excellent instructions on what to do moving forward. The final report was top-notch and very professional. Working with the Digital Economy Program has enhanced my business in a way that I would not have been able to do on my own. As a small business that was financially impacted by two years of challenges, the expertise offered by this program could not have been delivered at a better time. Thank you for offering this opportunity.

Client Testimonial: Thanks, Logan! That (Final Report) is really great and thorough, as you have been all through the process. I wanted to say that you have given us a huge leg-up business-wise. I will send a brief follow-up on how much this helped. I know the Google Add guys and literature suggest or more like insist you have a solid "landing page" and that some of the things we have in place. Particularly with e-commerce added in. Thanks for making it painless on our end
