Freelance Marketing

Freelance Marketing Projects

Overview

Since returning from a three-month solo backpacking trip, I’ve taken on a range of freelance marketing projects while actively exploring new full-time opportunities. These experiences have allowed me to develop new skills, work across different industries, and broaden my overall marketing expertise.

I collaborated with a local real estate agent on a freelance project, providing video and photography services to market commercial plots and investment properties.

For the video component, I used my DJI Mini Pro 4 drone to capture aerial footage of the investment property and its surrounding area, highlighting the land's strong location. I then edited the footage in Adobe After Effects, applying color correction and animated callouts to emphasize key details from the online listing.

For the Photography component, I again used my DJI Mini Pro 4 drone to capture aerial and ground footage of commercial plots to be featured online.

FitTheoreM Windermere

I had the opportunity to complete a freelance marketing contract for a boutique kickboxing and fitness studio. My work involved developing a comprehensive marketing strategy centered around my “Bottom-Up Approach” — a three-tiered framework designed for emerging businesses that prioritizes maximizing free and organic marketing channels before scaling into paid advertising.

In addition to crafting the strategy, I designed and developed a new website, implementing on-page SEO best practices to improve visibility and search performance. I also integrated the site with the studio’s existing CRM system, added new scheduling functionalities, and built a promotional coupon download and activation workflow to drive lead generation and conversion.

Below is a before-and-after comparison of the website transformation (View the new current website here).

Head Rise - Surface Pumping Systems

I have had the opportunity to work with Head Rise - Surface Pumping Systems in building out their branding kit. The owners had provided me with a rough idea of a logo, which featured a volute pump shape in orange and blue, the two colours they wanted to use. I took their initial idea and built on it by creating an abstract shape of a volute pump, including small details such as an arrow pointing up to represent the “rise” in Head Rise. Also, I created an oil-drop shape in the centre of the pump to represent the oil industry the company will serve. All my work had been done on Adobe Illustrator.
